Rucksacks & Packs

Chas E. Smith is pleased to present a great range of rucksacks and packs, specially designed to suit every occasion.

Here in the UK we call it a rucksack or haversack, and in the US they call it a backpack (previously knapsack or sackpack), but whatever you prefer to call it we have a great selection for you to choose from.

Military & Backpacking

We have military rucksacks specifically designed for soldiers and the TA. The larger ones are commonly known as bergens, and range in size from 90 litres up to a massive 135 litres. And with names like Snugpak and Web-Tex, you know that you are getting a quality product.

In our civilian range, we have rucksacks and daypacks ranging from 15 litres up to 80 litres, in a range of colours and styles. These are great for day trips, and for hikers and backpackers.

Our smaller daypacks are large enough to carry food and water for 1 day with space for spare clothing and equipment. And for longer backpacking trips when you are going to need to carry overnight equipment like a tent and sleeping bag, we have larger rucksacks with an internal aluminium frame and extra padding to help spread the load and make it more comfortable to carry.
