The Tracpac Locking Carabiner is a great camping and hiking accessory, allowing you to easily attach items to your rucksack for ease of access. The screw lock gate provides extra security to ensure the carabiner does not open accidentally when snagged on something.
Offset D Ring Carabiner
The carabiner is an offset d-ring type, where the gate opening end is bigger than the end where the hinge is. This makes it easier to attach and detach items and allows more or bigger items to be attached.
The carabiners are available in 2 sizes – Small (6 mm) or Large (8 mm). The 6 mm and 8 mm refers to the thickness of the metal, not the size of the D!
Screw Lock Gate
Once closed, the screw lock gate allows you to lock the carabiner to prevent it from opening accidentally. It is very easy with a large rucksack to get items hung on the outside snagged on rope or branches which could result in important equipment being lost.
The Tracpac Locking Carabiner is NOT suitable for climbing, but is an ideal camping and hiking accessory. It allows you to attach items like a water bottle, mug or pen knife to your rucksack, giving you quick and easy access.
